Anthony Davis commanded the Lakers with 32 points, 18 rebounds. LeBron James had 25 points, 7 assists. JaVale McGee had 11 points, 16 rebounds. LA didn't get much help beyond that, with Green, KCP & Rondo tallying a combined 19 points. On the other side, San Antonio's brightest Spurs stepped up big in the clutch: Brandon Ingram had 28 points with 9 rebounds and 2 steals, hitting four threes & Dejounte Murray had 26 points, 6 rebounds & 9 assists with 3 steals. Joe Harris came through again, with 15 points. J.R. Smith had 11, Mozgov had 15 rebounds & 5 blocks.
The Sting: LA shot 13-22 from the free throw line, ultimately losing by 8 points. San Antone buried 15 three-pointers, to just 5-17 by LA. Both teams dished 28 assists, but LA had 11 turnovers.
"This is the toughest challenge that I can recall us facing since I joined the Spurs," Brandon Ingram said after the game. "To defeat my former team like this, in a game 7, man--it feels good."
The Shot: Dejounte Murray hit the biggest shot, a corner 3PTer during a broken play as the shot clock went low, 2:45 left in regulation, that put the Spurs up 99-94.
Mozgov would block McGee on the other end, and Ingram would get fouled to make two free throws, 101-94. Mozgov would come through big, hitting the elbow jumper over McGee, making it 103-96. KCP would miss an open 3PT attempt off a solid screen by McGee, with Mozgov fingering the ball away from AD on the glass, leading to Bradley's layup, 105-96. Danny Green whiffed on a corner 3PTer, then Ingram drove to the basket, dishing it back out to Bradley on the left wing for the 3-PT dagger.
