NBA Finals Rematch - Season Series: Spurs butcher Bucks, 75-132.

Giannis tried, but the Bucks lost badly.
The Spurs came out empowered and determined to win at home after a disappointing loss in Milwaukee, also wanting to execute well. "Our mission tonight was to attack the basket. We were far too timid last game, so I'm happy with our effort tonight," Coach Popovich proudly stated post-game after his team crushed the Bucks, leading by as many as 57 points at one moment in the game.

Brandon Ingram had a season-high 30 points with 8 reounds, as every Spur played aggressively and didn't relent whatsoever on defense. Giannnis Antetokounmpo ( 25 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 11-21, 0-3 3PT) was pushed further and further out by the Spurs zone defensive scheme, realizing the speed advantage of the Bucks talent in a man-on-man strategy. Taurean Prince put together a great game, tallying 22 points & 12 rebounds with 5 assists (8-10, 2-3 3PT). Overall, the Spurs controlled the glass, as Jarrett Allen & Timofey Mosgov combined for 24 rebounds this time around. The Spurs also hit 13 shots from long range, unlike the Bucks, who were shooting 33% by halftime to 57% by the Spurs, the halftime margin of rebounds a staggering 17-32, SA.

San Antonio wowed the home crowd with a 20-0 scoring run, which pushed the lead to 23-54 in the 2nd Quarter of play. Nik Stauskas continued to show consistency from beyond the arc, finishing with 13 points (3-4 3PT). Dejounte Murray had a slow start but came on well for 14 points (7-16, 0-3 3PT). Mosgov scored 11 points and Allen had a huge alley-oop slam courtesy of Jeremy Lin. J.R. Smith hit 2-2 from deep, with P.J. Tucker hitting 2-3, combining for 16 points. Derrick White contributed 10 points, hitting two threes and sneaking two steals.

The Blowout:

The Spurs won the first quarter big, 23-34; the second quarter 18-32, with the only quarter (3rd) being 22-25, a slight win for SA; the 4th Quarter was vastly one-sided at 12-41 for the Spurs, in a simply staggering disparity. Giannis had little help in this one, with Brook Lopez the second-most contributor with only 11 points. Wes Matthews went 3-12, Middleton a cold 3-7. Pat Connaughton went 1-7, and Sterling Brown went 1-10. The worst was Eric Bledsoe's 0-7 night, with just 2 assists. Even Kyle Korver had an off night, going 0-3 (0-2 3PT). The Spurs returned the favor on the inside, dominating the paint 72-38, its bench destroying Milwaukee 61-24, with ten more assists at 32-22. The glass went to the Spurs, 67-40 with only six turnovers. The Spurs likeliest Finals foe out east remains the Bucks, but this dominant showcase was a delight for the A&T Center faithful.
