Frustration festers in tough home loss v. Jazz, 113-106.

Bojan Bogdanovic's corner 3PTer was the dagger.
This game was a frustrating experience for the Spurs at home, who looked fine, played fine, but could never seize control to build a lead, the scoreboard in constant flux, until the Jazz went up late. San Antonio valiantly fought back, hoping for a last-possession 3PT opportunity. Then Bojan Bogdanovic's dagger fell from the corner, putting the Jazz up by five.

Scoring Breakdown:
1st Qtr: 28-24, Jazz
2nd Qtr: 26-26
3rd Qtr: 31-31
4th Qtr: 28-25, Jazz

"We fouled too much, we slipped back too many times. Sometimes you just have to concede it wasn't your night. Utah played fabulously tonight," Coach Popovich resigned on the sidelines having surrendered six more free throw attempts for Utah. Donovan Mitchell had 25 points, still one of the league's best young talents (10-22) with 4 assists. Rudy Gobert eclipsed Al Jefferson's Utah Jazz record with 29 rebounds and 17 rebounds (5 blocks), topping his own career-high number and setting a new single-game record for any Jazz player. Timofey Mosgov contended better than Jarrett Allen's 2 rebounds, tallying a respectable 18 rebounds. Popovich yanked Allen after only 7 minutes, but the damage had been done by Gobert in that small time frame. Mosgov scored 16 points with 3 blocks.

In the loss, Dejounte Murray & Brandon Ingram combined for 38 points. J.R. Smith had 14 points, looking sharp and gunning his best effort, hitting four threes. Nik Stauskas was cold tonight, going 1-6 from long range, the same as Joe Harris. Taurean Prince had just 7 points, and Avery Bradley also went 1-6. P.J. Tucker had 13 points. Mike Conley had 14 points, 6 assists.
